JOB SUMMARY: Entry level position in the construction department where the employee will learn safety procedures, company policies, and construction techniques by performing all necessary work from the ground to assist other crew members.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to: Crew Leader as directed on a daily basis
REQUIRED EDUCATION, DEGREES, CERTIFICATES, AND/OR LICENSES:
Valid Georgia Driver’s License
High School Diploma or Equivalent
EXPERIENCE: One year’s previous work experience required
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Obtain CDL within 6 months after employment
- Become certified in bucket truck rescue
- Become certified in DOT flagging
- Become CPR certified
- Become familiar with all aspects of safety rules and regulations and learn to recognize all hazards that exist on a jobsite in the form of falls, electric shock, falling objects, and traffic; and become familiar with the use of personal protective and safety equipment.
- Become informed of CEMC’s Policies and Procedures
- Become familiar with knot tying
- Become familiar with equipment set-up
- Become familiar with truck inspections
- Learn to work the digger truck in de-energized situations
- Become familiar with basic electricity
- Become familiar with the proper use of hand lines
- Become familiar with proper tamping procedures
- Learn to safely remove downed trees from the right-of-way
- Serve on after hours call rotation
- Support company objectives
- Participates in Job Training and Safety Meetings as required
- Participates in Annual Meeting as required
- Perform other duties as required
