Rate Adjustment 2024

Canoochee EMC Announces Rate Adjustments for 2024

Understanding the Need for Adjustment

As you know, rising costs have impacted all aspects of daily life over the past few years. While Canoochee EMC has strived to avoid passing these increases on to its members, continued rises in power costs, equipment, and supplies have necessitated a rate adjustment for 2024.

The Board of Directors understands the impact of this decision, as they are also members of Canoochee EMC and share the potential hardship with their families and friends. This difficult decision was not taken lightly.

Rate Changes

Effective March 1, 2024, the following adjustments will be implemented:

  • Base Rate: Increased from $16.00 to $20.00 per month.
  • Cost per Kilowatt Hour (kWh): Increased from $0.103 to $0.110 per kWh.

These changes will result in an average monthly increase of approximately $10, or $120 per year, for most Canoochee EMC members.

Supporting Our Members

The Board of Directors acknowledges the potential hardship this adjustment may cause and encourages members to explore energy-saving measures. Additionally, members with existing deposits may find benefit in converting to prepay accounts to utilize their deposits towards future energy usage.

Canoochee EMC remains committed to delivering reliable and cost-effective electricity to its members while navigating the challenges presented by a fluctuating cost environment.
