JOB SUMMARY: Experienced position in construction department where employee will be responsible for performing all construction activities unsupervised and provide supervision to other crew members in the absence of the Crew Leader.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to: Project Coordinator or Crew Leader as directed on a daily basis.
Directs: Apprentice Lineman, Equipment Operator and Groundman in absence of Crew Leader.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, DEGREES, CERTIFICATES, AND/OR LICENSES:
Valid Georgia Driver’s License
High School Diploma
CDL
ITS (OPC) Certified Operator
Pole Top and Bucket Truck Rescue Certified
D.O.T. Flagging Certified
Ability to Perform First Aid/CPR
Completion of GEMC Apprenticeship Program
Must be able to pass a Military background check for access on Ft Stewart
EXPERIENCE: 3 years as a Apprentice Lineman
RESPONSIBILITIES/SKILLS:
- Knowledge of all aspects of safety rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of CEMC Policies and Procedures.
- Knowledge of code requirements, constructions specifications, and CEMC requirements regarding customer wiring.
- Ability to operate a digger truck and work from a bucket in an energized environment with no supervision.
- Ability to safely remove trees from power lines.
- Ability to read staking sheets and construction prints.
- Ability to operate all equipment efficiently.
- Ability to provide supervision, direction, and training to other crew members.
- Prepare timesheets for employees under his direction in the absence of the crew leader.
- Knowledge of all fusing.
- Ability to change status of regulators.
- Sees that trucks, tools, and working equipment assigned are properly used and kept in good working order.
- Read, Connect and Disconnect meters as directed.
- Serve on after hours call rotation.
- Support company objectives without exception.
- Participate in Job Training and Safety meetings as required.
- Participate in outages and emergencies as needed.
- Participate in annual meeting as required.
- Perform such other duties as required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Very heavy work.
- Work performed involves frequently working from a bucket, lifting and pulling cable, digging with a shovel and other hand tools; frequently pulling cable and rope; climbing poles.
