Important COVID-19 Information

Canoochee recognizes that our communities, members, and employees have been negatively impacted by the Coronavirus.  These are unprecedented times for all of us, and we remain committed to our members and the communities that we serve.  Even through uncertain times, our employees have continued to keep the lights on, giving your families the best possible service during these trying times.

Keeping in line with the needs of our communities and local economies, we also recognize the necessity to continue to suspend disconnections and late fees through June 30th.  Our members are in need, and we have devised a plan to provide a path forward to get those that have faced difficulties back on track.

If you have been impacted by COVID-19, and you have a delinquent balance, we encourage you to call Canoochee at (800)342-0134 as soon as possible to discuss your path forward.  We also encourage everyone negatively impacted to make at least a partial payment for any outstanding balances.  This will make the transition that much easier.

Based on Governor Kemp’s plan to reopen Georgia businesses, Canoochee EMC will also begin the process to get back to normal through gradual steps.  We will be opening our lobbies on a limited basis beginning Monday, May 4.  During this time, we ask that you practice social distancing and consider using personal protection equipment, such as masks and gloves.  We also ask that if you are not feeling well, please do not come into one of our offices.  We have an obligation to provide a safe environment for our members and for our employees. We also ask for your understanding that in-person transactions may take longer than normal.

We continue to encourage our members to utilize our alternative methods of doing business.  Nearly all your needs can be conducted through our Canoochee App, on-line through our website, or through a phone call.  These services include requests for disconnections, new connections, outage information and paying your bills.

It is our prayer that a vaccine and cure will be available in the near future, and businesses and jobs will quickly return to safe operations.  Canoochee wishes you and your family safety and health.

NOTICE ON DISCONNECTIONS

Due to the circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 virus (Coronavirus), Canoochee EMC will not disconnect members for non-payment through June 30, 2020.  Please contact us as soon as possible to begin working out an arrangement before this date.  Late Fees will also not be assessed during this period of time.  Here is important information on this matter:

  • This is NOT a waiver and does not eliminate your bill.
  • At the end of this period, your bill will still be due.
  • We recommend that members make an attempt to stay current with your payments.
